The system will allow the reversal of a PIN or PIO that has not been allocated to another posting. If the PIN or PIO has been allocated to a PPN or PPO then these transaction will have to be reversed first.

To reverse a posting within General Postings follow the steps below.
From the Main Menu select General Postings.
Select the original transaction type and tick the Reversal box.
Click New.
Enter the matter number. On leaving this field a Posting Allocations screen will pop up listing all the available transactions.
Double Click the transaction to be reversed and double click on that transaction line.
All details are input into the posting screen and the narrative is amended to include the wording (Reversal).
Check the correct Date /period is input.
Click on the blue disc icon to save the transaction.
When the batch is complete click on Post.
N.B.
Reversal postings can also be made in the General Posting (Interactive) program.
This program allows different posting types to be completed consecutively without the need to exit postings. All postings completed via this program are "Real Time".
This means the ledgers are updated when the transaction is saved.
If the posting has an allocation eg a WO/PPO/PPN/SIB against it this allocation.

If you can't reverse the posting and need to post on a credit note instead you can follow the above steps, instead of picking the original posting type select PCN (Nominal credit note) or PCO (Office credit note) and don't select the reversal box.
Once this is posted then you can post the PIN or PIO again with the correct details.
