Error - 'Please enter a valid user name and password'

There are two possible scenarios why you are receiving this error:

  • User not active

  • User name or password incorrect

To resolve this follow the steps below.

​Note: If you or your administrator don't have access to User Profiles, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.

Activate the user

  1. From Proclaim open User Profiles.

  2. Select the user who's unable to login.

  3. Click the MAIN tab.

  4. Check if the Live User check box is selected.

    If the check box is already selected, proceed to the Incorrect user name or password section.

  5. Click the UPDATE button.

  6. Tick the Live User check box.

  7. Click the SAVE button.

The user now activated, try to log back into Proclaim. If the error message reappears it maybe that the user name and password are incorrect, if so please proceed to the next section.

Incorrect user name or password

Check user name

  1. From Proclaim open User Profiles.

  2. Select the user who's unable to login.

  3. Click the MAIN tab.

  4. Check User Login name used is correct.

If the User Login name is correct please, try logging in again checking that the details are being entered correctly. If the error message still appears, you'll need to reset the password.

Reset password

  1. From Proclaim open User Profiles.

  2. Select the user who's unable to login.

  3. Click the MAIN tab.

  4. Click the UPDATE button.

  5. Enter a new password in the Password field.

  6. Click the SAVE button.

You will now be able to login using the user name and password.
