If you are unable to send an email from Proclaim but are not having issues with outlook independently, or if you are receiving errors relating to 'Unable to locate outbox provided/mapimail', follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
Profile name
Sign in to Proclaim and enter User Profiles.
Select the user in question then click Update.
Select the Email/ Printing tab.
Ensure the profile name is correct. Read more >
Click SAVE.
Restart Proclaim, and then test.
Password
It is also sometimes necessary to blank out the Password field within the Email/ Printing settings of User Profiles. The user will need to restart Proclaim to test following any updates. To access the password, follow steps 1 to 3 as above.
Email address
Another area to check is the Email Address itself. Ensure there are no additional spaces at the end of the email address, or anywhere else, in the Address field. To access the email address field, follow steps 1 to 3 as above.
If the above steps have not worked or you do not have access to User Profiles, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
Office version
Another potential cause of these issues is that the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office has been installed instead of the 32-bit version. In order to check this, follow the steps below:
Open Outlook and click File.
Click Office Account then click About Outlook.
The version will be listed at the top of the new window.
Note: For example, Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2110 Build 16.0.14527.20234) 32-bitIf it's 64-bit, request that the user contacts their IT to get this changed.
Outlook Cached Mode
Another potential cause of this is that Outlook is running in Cached Mode. To disable this, follow the steps below:
Open Outlook, then click File.
Select Account Settings then Account Settings...
Select your email address then click Change...
Untick Use Cached Exchange Mode to download email to an Outlook data file.
Click Next then click Done.
Restart Proclaim.
