Restore a deleted case

Mistakes can happen and that includes accidentally deleting a case file. If this has happened and the case needs to be restored there are a few ways it can be done depending on how it was removed.

If the case was deleted through the Case Table Control program, as long as the tickbox to store the deleted information was ticked this can be restored following the below steps

  1. Launch Case restore

  2. Type in the case reference in the first box

  3. Use the search button to the right to navigate to where the Del logs are stored

  4. The Del logs are normally in the main server _docs in a folder called Del logs

  5. Select from the Del Logs folder, the file called DelContents.txt

  6. Press Restore and let the program finish

If the above for any reason does not work and we would have to try and restore a case from backup this can be chargeable, or in the event you do not have access to any of the above please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
