Error message when sending emails

Error occurred while accessing component property/method:
GetDefaultFolder
Error in IMAPISession::OpenMsgStore:
MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER
Error Code: 0x80020009 Proclaim/mapimail.p (5890)

Note: If you or your System Administrator does not have access to User Profiles, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.

This error can be remedied by following the two steps below in this order.

​Proclaim

  1. Log the affected user out of their current Proclaim session.

  2. Enter the User Profiles program and ensure the Email/Printing tab is selected.

  3. Click UPDATE and find the Default tick box in email accounts and untick and SAVE.

  4. Click UPDATE and re-tick the same Default tick box and SAVE.

Outlook

  1. Go into Outlook and click File.

  2. Find Account Settings and then click Account Settings again.

  3. Click on the user's email address and click Change.

  4. Turn the Cache Mode tick box on or off depending on what it was on originally.

  5. Click Next, and then Done.

  6. Close Outlook down and re-open.

  7. Log user back into Proclaim, send test email.

Note: This issue can also be caused by antivirus software if the antivirus has on-access scanning enabled and so is locking the files when Proclaim is trying to delete
