The client secret, which identifies the submitting system to the Official Injury Claims portal (OIC), will change every 180 days. The OIC states that reminder emails will be sent out.

Note: If your client secret was created prior to 15 May 2023, it should automatically change on or around 15 May 2023.

To update the Client Secret, follow the steps below:

Obtain the new Client Secret

  1. Using your administrator account, log into the OIC.

  2. Click the API tab.

  3. At the bottom left, locate the New Secret and copy.

Update the maths

Note: The OIC indicate that during the 30 days period prior to expiry, both old and new client secret codes will be valid.

  1. Open the Database Maintenance program then select the RTA_WR case type.

  2. Locate and select the field Setup - Token - Client Secret then click Update.

  3. On line 9, paste the client secret after result = ".
Note: It should look like this, with your client secret in the highlighted section

  4. Check the syntax then save the changes.

Note: Users pick up the changes next time they log into Proclaim. If the user is experiencing errors due to the client secret expiring, ask them to log out and back into Proclaim.

Test the connection

  1. Within Proclaim Desktop, double-click Queries.

  2. For case type, select RTA_WR then for find phrase select Admin Case.

  3. Click search then double-click RTA-WR-AD-1 Admin Live.

  4. Select the Admin Control and Comm Log screen.

  5. In the top right-hand corner, click the Connection Test button.

  6. To the Full Response ? question, click No.
Note: The full response is not required at this point, however, it shows the token and the response to the main service.

  7. Review the information pop-up:

    • If the Token service and main service state OK, then click Close.

    • If the Token service and main service state an error, check the error description in the Comm log.
Note: If the client secret is correct in the maths, but the service is still not responding, contact the OIC.

If you are still having issues after following the above, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
