If a user is receiving a SOAP error when submitting EDRS to HMLR follow the below steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Check stunnel connection

  1. Connect to client-server and sign in to Proclaim.

  2. Open Main Case Handling/Proclaim Desktop and open the case in question.

  3. Open the Enquiry page and click the LRBG EPD Request screen.

  4. Click the UPDATE button.

  5. Type 11 in House/Building Number and type BD1 5BJ in Postcode.

  6. Click Send to LRBG and click YES.

  7. If results appear, the stunnel connection is working.

Restart stunnel service

  1. Connect to the client-server and sign in to Proclaim.

  2. Open Web Services Administration.

  3. Look for LRBG DAY and check the file path listed under the Name Of File column, this is where stunnel is located.

  4. RDP to the server specified in the file path if not there already.

  5. Search for and open Services in Windows.

  6. Find and click the stunnel service.

  7. Click the Stop Service button then click the Start Service button.

Determine the cause of the error

  1. Sign in to Proclaim and open System Parameter Maintenance.

  2. Find and select the WebServices Debug system parameter.

  3. Click UPDATE and set the value to Yes, click SAVE, minimise System Parameter Maintenance.

  4. Open Main Case Handling/Proclaim Desktop and open the case in question.

  5. Open the Enquiry page and click the LRBG eDRS Application screen.

  6. Click UPDATE and click Send Application to LRBG.

  7. Click YES then YES then NO, the error will then be produced.

  8. Open System Parameter Maintenance and change the WebServices Debug value to No.

  9. Open Windows File Explorer and type %temp% into the file path bar, open the Proclaim folder.

  10. Right-click the XML file that ends in -Error and open using Internet Explorer.

  11. Use this document to deduce the cause of the error.

E.g: The value " of element 'PostcodeOfProperty' is not valid would mean that the PostcodeOfProperty text field is blank and is causing a problem.

  12. Advise the client of the alterations that need to be made and ask them to test again. If the error persists repeat these steps.
