By default, you are allocated a 10GB Windows profile. Low disk space can cause performance issues such as difficulties sending emails or opening PDFs. The steps below will help you free up space and prevent similar issues in the future.
Free up disk space
To clear space on your profile:
Delete unwanted items from your desktop, documents, and downloads folders.
Empty the Recycle Bin.
Identify and remove unnecessary files, such as large downloads, temporary files, and outdated local data.
đ¤Tip: For more detailed guidance on clearing space, see the Clear Disk Space on Your Hosted Profile article.
Check your Outlook cached mode and OneDrive sync
Outlook's cached mode and OneDrive sync settings can consume a significant portion of your allocated space. If either of these has been changed from the default, it may be contributing to the issue.
If you have increased the Outlook cached mode, lower it back to reduce the amount of mailbox data stored locally.
If you have enabled a full OneDrive sync, reduce the scope of what is being synced to your profile.
Monitor your disk space regularly
Regularly monitoring your disk space will help you avoid running into the same issue in the future. Keep an eye on your usage and clear files as needed before your profile becomes full.
If you need more than your allocated 10GB, reach out to your account manager to discuss purchasing additional space.
