Updating the bill auto number/error 'Bill is in use' when trying to post a new bill

Follow the below steps to check where the Auto Billing number is pulled from:

  1. From the Main Menu select Posting Maintenance.

  2. Click on the tab BILLING.

  3. Check the Next Bill Number Option.

  4. If this is the same as a previous bill this needs to be updated to the next bill required highlight the Option.

  5. Select UPDATE.

  6. Put the number required in the box.

  7. Select SAVE.
