Note: CCBC (County Court Business Centre) is now called CNBC (Civil National Business Centre) however renaming the integration is likely to cause problems. So we'll continue to refer to the CNBC as CCBC for the sake of backwards compatibility and consistency.

To implement this process, you'll need the following:

  1. Your new digital certificate in a .PEM format. Details on how to request a certificate are contained in the CCBC CiD (Customer Interface Definition document) – this can be obtained from the CNBC Insight Team. Note that the certificate, when built, must be converted into a .pem format.

  2. Access to your Proclaim system, and, to the “CCBC-SDT” case type within that Proclaim system

Test the connection

Before replacing the certificate, we recommend that you test the existing connection to ensure it is operating as expected:

  1. In Proclaim Desktop, double-click Queries.

  2. For case type, select CCBC-SDT and for Find phrase select All 01 CUrrent Submissions not complete.

  3. Click Search, and then in the results, locate an entry containing a Q. For example SDTs-Q-202406. Note: These are the Query cases which obtain defendant responses, and generally there should be one for last month, this month, and next month. The case numbers have the year and the month at the end of the names.

  4. Double-click the entry to open it, and then click Run a linked action

  5. Select CCBC Connection Test and then click Process.

Tip: You'll see a message similar to the one below. Apart from the service and customer ID, the message should appear similar.

Tip: If you don't see the error on the connection test after renaming the certificate – exit and re-enter the case and try again.

Add your new certificate

  1. In the folder that opened when you ran the CCBC Certificate Folder linked action, copy your new certificate.

  2. Ensure the certificate has precisely the same name as the original certificate as the one you renamed.

Re-test the connection

With the new certificate in place, test the connection again. You should see the same message as the first test, showing that the connection is operating again.

Warning: Certificates are often loaded when a user logs into Proclaim. Users may need to log out of Proclaim and back in again before attempting to connect to CCBC. We recommended that after changing the certificate (as above) you stop the Proclaim Task Server (which handles connections to CCBC) and restart to ensure that it picks up the changes you have made.
