During a linked action that sends letters, a word document will be opened in order for you to check its contents prior to it being added to the history. Sometimes when this word document is closed the linked action might appear as though it is stuck or that Proclaim has frozen. This can happen if a stale Winword.exe session is still active in the background keeping the linked action engaged and not allowing it to progress.
You can resolve this in three easy steps:
Right-click the taskbar then click Task Manager.
Click the Details tab.
Tip: If you can't see the Details tab, click More details.Right-click Winword.exe then click End Task.
This resumes the operation for the linked action.
If you notice that this problem occurs every time you try to edit a letter in Proclaim, please check to see if stale Winword.exe processes occur when you open and close Word documents outside of Proclaim as well. If they do, please contact your general IT and ask them to look into it.
