Incorrect spelt word added to Proclaim dictionary

Steps to find and edit the Proclaim dictionary to add, edit, or remove words.

The Proclaim dictionary is stored as a text file on your machine. You can open it directly to add, edit, or remove words — including any that were added incorrectly.

📌Note: The dictionary file only supports standard English characters. Do not add words containing special characters, as these will not be recognised.

  1. Open File Explorer.

  2. In the address bar, type the following path and press Enter:
    ​
    ​C:\Users\CLIENTUSER\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Eclipse Legal Systems\HTMLEditor\editor\add-on\spell
    ​

  3. Open the dictionary .txt file.

  4. Add, edit, or delete words as needed, then save the file.

  5. Log out of Proclaim, then log back in to apply the changes.

⚠️Important: Replace CLIENTUSER in the file path with your Windows username before navigating to the folder.

If you do not have the permissions to access the file path above, open the Access Digital Assistant and ask to speak to a human to be put through to our support team.
