If a matter has accounts postings, the only way to transfer it from one practice to another is to go to General Postings and use the TFR transaction type.
If a matter is moved across simply by changing the practice number it will cause imbalances within the system.
Note: TFR can only be used when both practices are in the same period and financial year. Follow the steps below:
Select General Postings from your toolbar.
Select TFR transaction type.
Click NEW.
If TFR is not available for selection, go to Posting Maintenance to see if that transaction type can be added.
Select Posting Maintenance from your toolbar.
Click the ACCESS tab at the top of the screen.
If TFR does not exist in Posting Maintenance, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
NB
If your Practices have different periods then the TFR can not be added and manual balance postings or the transactions reversed off the old matter and put back on the new matter will need to be done.
The posting can be done via Auto Post for bulk postings.
