To resolve the issue of the spell-checker crashing, check for invalid or unexpected characters in the email. For example, the spell-checker can't recognise Chinese characters.
Remove the invalid characters and then drag the email into Proclaim.
Note: The above is the only solution, as the English spell-checker cannot recognise Chinese or other non-English characters.
