⚠️ Important: Some troubleshooting steps require Windows administrator rights.
Check for Resource Issues
Open Task Manager by right-clicking the Taskbar and selecting Task Manager, or by searching for the Task Manager app.
Click More details if Task Manager opens in the simplified view.
Click the Performance tab.
Check whether Memory or CPU is running at full or very high capacity. If either is very high, Proclaim may take a long time to load or may not load at all.
Click the Processes tab, then review which applications are using the most resources.
Close any unnecessary application that is using high resources, where possible.
Refresh the Remote Desktop Session
Close all open applications in your remote session.
Open the Start menu, then click Sign out. Do not just disconnect the session.
If available, right-click your user or profile icon, then click Sign out.
Reconnect to your Remote Desktop session.
Open Proclaim again.
Signing out and reconnecting reloads Proclaim components and can often resolve freezing on Save or Accept, crashes, and unexpected logouts.
Resolve XML or ProXML Component Issues
Disable DevExpress for the Affected User
Open User Profiles, then go to Extended Fields.
Select the affected user.
Check the DevExpress field.
Change DevExpress from Yes to No if it is enabled.
Click Save.
Re-register Proclaim XML DLLs
Make sure all users are logged off the terminal server, or sign in to the local PC as an administrator.
Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
Go to the Proclaim OpenEdge bin folder.
Run the following command:
regsvr32 prox.dllRun the following command:
regsvr32 proxml.dllSign the user back in, then test Proclaim again.
📌 Note: The proxml.dll registration may show an error but can still function correctly.
Get Further Help
Open the MyAccess Portal Digital Assistant if the issue continues after completing these checks.
Ask a question, then type Speak to a human to be connected to the Support team.
💡 Best Practices
Check CPU and Memory usage before completing more advanced troubleshooting steps.
Always sign out of the remote session fully instead of disconnecting when troubleshooting freezes or crashes.
Make sure you have Windows administrator rights before re-registering DLL files.
Keep Proclaim and its components updated to reduce compatibility issues.
