Below are examples of physical, dedicated Proclaim hardware suitable for use in a local or hosted environment for a range of concurrent Proclaim users. If choosing to virtualize and store data and guests on a SAN please ensure that the database data resides on a RAID 1 or RAID 10 array and the IO of any SAN is not overloaded. Raid 5 or 6 are not recommended by Progress for the best database performance.
If you have purchased our replication solution, you'll need two environments of identical specs to ensure true failover in the event of DR.
Warning: These examples are physical servers, if virtualizing, add 20% to the resources we specify to take into account the additional overhead of the virtualization technology. It's also advisable to use n+1 for Citrix/ RDP Servers.

* indicates that a dedicated task/web server is recommended for sites with 50-plus users. One task/web server per four task servers.
** indicates supported Office and OS versions.
*** indicates that if you have home users or satellite offices in a different geographical location to the Proclaim database server, for example not on the same <1ms 100/1000mbps wired LAN, then remote desktop services or Citrix will be required. Due to latency and to a lesser extent bandwidth Proclaim is unsupported when the client is connecting to the database over any form of WAN / VPN or WiFi.

If you are purchasing a new PC or laptop, we recommend the computer has at least an i5 core processor and 8GB of memory. If you have any specific queries, please contact us.
Proclaim is not supported with Microsoft Office 64-bit versions nor is a connection to a Proclaim server over WiFi.
Our suggested minimum specification to run Proclaim would be as follows. Proclaim runs on older configurations but this is our suggested minimum. Please also keep in mind that additional software also uses memory and processor resources, for example, anti-virus software. Proclaim requires a minimum of 1GB of free memory and 5GB of free disk space for the client software.

Multi case access
Multi Case Access relies on Proclaim Clients being able to communicate directly with each other via TCP sockets. Additional firewall rules may be necessary to allow this to happen. Client PCs communicate on a range specified by a Proclaim System Parameter, by default, this is 9020-9039. The range may need to increase for boxes that have multiple users on them, for example, RDS or Citrix servers. Alternatively, it may need to be changed if it conflicts with other applications. If you wish to use this feature, please ask your IT support to add these rules to the firewalls on any machines that will use Proclaim.

Office must be installed in a traditional manner. Using Streamed versions, for example, doesn't allow for integration.
The Progress installation requires OpenJDK for any reason you wish to have Oracle Java instead, an additional per user monthly charge and must be bought through Oracle.
